Entering a Lottery

Q: How does the lottery work?
A:

A limited number of tickets for select performances will be sold via the Broadway Direct Official Digital Lottery.

Click the “Enter Now” button for the performance you want to attend and fill out the entry form. Make sure the name you enter matches the name on your photo ID. If you are a winner, you must present a valid, non-expired photo ID at the box office to pick up your tickets. Please note: We cannot accept photocopies of IDs.

After the lottery closes, you will be notified via email within minutes as to whether you won or not.

If you are selected as a winner, you have 60 minutes to pay for your tickets online. Major credit cards are accepted.

IMPORTANT: If you do not pay for your tickets by the deadline listed in your confirmation they will be released and re-sold.

After you pay and receive your payment confirmation, you can pick up your tickets at the Box Office no sooner than 30 minutes before show time with a valid photo ID.

Seats are assigned at the discretion of the Box Office and cannot be transferred to other people or performances.

If you didn’t win, you can always come back and try again for a future performance.

Q: After submitting my entry, I got a message to check my email but I never received the email. What should I do now?
A:

Some email filtering programs may designate the email we send you as spam or junk mail. We recommend checking your spam folder and/or junk email folder to locate the email we sent to you. You will need to click a link in that email to officially enter the lottery. We also recommend that you add lottery@broadwaydirect.com to your address book so that you will easily receive any emails that we send to you.

A:

If you received an email confirming your lottery entry, you have been entered into that lottery. If you go to check your status and it says there are no entries it may be for one of two reasons – either you are not entering your information exactly as you did when you entered the lottery or you are checking your status after that performance has started. You will only be able to check your status for a lottery before the start of the performance. After the performance has begun, you will no longer be able to check your status for that performance.

Validating Emails

Q: Why do I need to verify my email?
A:

We require email verification to protect your privacy. You only need to do it one time.

You will not be entered into a lottery until your email is confirmed.

^ Return to "FAQ - Table of Contents"

Q: I clicked the validation link in the email, but it didn't work. What should I do?
A:

If you receive an error when you click the validation link it is most likely due to the fact that we already have a successful entry for you in that lottery or the lottery you entered closed.  PLEASE NOTE: Multiple entries by one individual for the same lottery are not permitted.
